Join our band!

Who: Band includes ages 13 and older.
 Adults are welcome and encouraged to join.
 A Minimum of three years of experience is needed.
Come to rehearsals willing to learn in a RELAXED atmosphere.

What: The JCCB is for intermediate through advanced musicians. Participants will enjoy eight rehearsals, one per week ending in two concerts in the Jenkintown area. Music will include classical, jazz, and pops tunes of varying levels. The first hour of rehearsal is designed to help only the intermediate musicians learn their music by holding a sectional for the brass and the woodwind instruments. The second hour of rehearsal is music for everyone and the third hour is designated only for the advanced musicians. The first rehearsal of the summer session will be the full three hours for everyone. Small breaks will be taken throughout the evening at each rehearsal.

When: Rehearsals are Tuesesday nights, June 15th - August 3rdth from 6-9 PM.
Concerts are scheduled for Tuesday & Wednesday, August 10th & 11th at 7 PM.                                                     (Locations are TBA)
Where: Rehearsals will be held at Immaculate Conception School,
606 West Ave, Jenkintown.

Requirements: Attendance is mandatory for 6 out of the 8 rehearsals
Fee: 100.00 – for summer session plus a small additional fee for a t-shirt.
Private Lessons: Private lessons on all wind instruments are available and are taught at I.C.S. for an additional fee, by Alex Schmauk. Please contact for more information.       

Music Director Alex Schmauk has conducted the Immaculate Conception School Band for the past 10 years. While there, Alex has helped to create a thriving music community. His goal in creating the Jenkintown Community Concert Band is to bring together a large variety of people who all want to play great music at a high level.
Alex Schmauk received his Bachelor of Music Degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD and his Master’s in Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston MA.
